Re: Peak during Oct 7-10?
tourist trap ? i don't think so. although weather played spoilt sport on one of my visits this year, i would still call them wonderful trips.
may be one should check out the "current foliage" maps before they go to new england. then you won't be disappointed.

Re: Best fall tour from albany to vermont
vandana,
i can vouch for Rts. 100 & 11. i've been there last weekend and were great.
if you have time, i suggest you stop for an hour or so at a state park (there are atleast three on Rt.100) so that you can really take things in. i couldn't do that on my trip and am regretting
enjoy!

the past weekend (Oct 6,7,8), i have been to the white & green mountains. the trip to the whites was wasted because of all the rain and snow, not to mention the horrible traffic. i was very disappointed as this is my first foliage trip and had been waiting for so long.
but, lo-behold, Vermont mor...

Re: Foliage w/e 10/12/01
i've been to Quechee & Mt.Snow area yesterday(Oct 8th). Colors are great, but the ski-lifts were not operating anywhere. even i was hoping they would. but, at Mt. Okemo, you can go up the hill in the car. we went half way up and it was beautiful from up there. but a ride on Rt.100 would give you man...

Re: camping in Vermont
i have modified my schedule so as take a full day's drive along Rt 100 & Rt 9 and camp at molly stark state park. i blame this forum (with all the scenic temptations you are writing about) partially, for my re-scheduling. can't wait for the weekend.
