Today I drove through Derby and out past Lake Salem on 105 east to west Charleston and East Charleston. The colors are there, but rather muted. I expect them to burst into full swing next weekend. I continued east on 105 through Island Pond, Brighton and Bloomfield. Some brighter colors there. From ...

The colors on I-91 northbound up through Shefield and into Barton are looking beautiful! I'm going to take a drive today around the Kingdom and search for the best places right now. This last week the colors are really starting to burst!

Smugglers notch road is a fabulous drive in the area that you will be in. Be prepared for alot of traffic though. I'm more familiar with the NEK area, but I'm sure someone else will chime in and offer you some great places to check out :D

I travel I-91 daily between Newport and St Johnsbury. ON the way home everyday, I keep noticing the every so slight color transformation. Especially over the Sheffield Heights area. Of course there are always those "rogue" trees that have completely turned already, but they are few and far between. ...

Actually Franconia notch wasn't to bad. Much more color than up here. There were bare trees, but the color was brighter and there were a ton of people there..lol..Not a bad day. Also took a walk on the Pemi trail. The woods are beautiful with all the colored leaves...and yeah, alot are on the ground...

Re: Photographing Foliage Abstracts

Hi again Heather,...Would love to see any Loon pics you might have. I look for them all the time and we have a pair on Lake Salem in Derby. I always go out in my little fishing boat and usually find them, but they are so darn fast. I just love Loons, in fact I just picked up another coffee cup with ...

Re: Northeast Kingdom Drive And More!

Thanks for the info fernando. I went over to smugglers notch last weekend and the colors just weren't quite "there" yet. Must be over the week they just went by. I'm actually thinking of heading down to the white mountains in NH today. Seems alot of areas are past peak already :(

Re: Photographing Foliage Abstracts

Hi Heather, Nice abstract! I do that as well. When I find it I'll show it to you. I had taken and abstract while in North Troy on the river road last year. Anyway, I have to tell you...I LOVE YOUR LOONS!! Goodness, those are VERY well done. I'm still working on getting good loon photos. Got a couple...

Northeast Kingdom Drive And More!

I took a long drive through many NEK towns today. Parts of Newport are really good, especially around Lake Memphremagog. If you get up this way, take a drive up Shattucks Hill Road (off route 5, across from Community Bank) There is a great view of the lake from there. From there I cruised past Derby...
