Re: Your 100% (Wow) Moment in Vermont? Here's mine.....
It was a perfect fall day in Vermont. We were playing golf late in the day and we knew we wouldn’t finish. The light was so perfect that the leaf colors stopped everyone in their tracks. We made about 4 holes at Stratton golf course before it became too dark. The failing light made the redness of ev...

Sure will! Enjoy your time! My friend sent me a picture from Stratton the other day, it was gorgeous. I’ll have make do with aspens. Sigh. BV

Sunday 10/6/2019 foliage report
Just finished a drive from southern to northern Vermont. Here are some impressions. Entered the state on 279. (Bennington bypass). Route 7 from Bennington to Manchester was very good, with peak appearing to be about a week away. Route 11 all the way from Manchester to Chester was a yawn, with an occ...

Well you certainly hit all the high points in my old neighborhood! Ha ha! The chainsaw festival in the fall is nice, especially Saturday night when they light up the wood sculptures. Coming east this year for peak foliage so can you make it around October 5 this year?!!

We hiked to the hang glider spot at peak foliage, something I will never forget. The valley spread out below was breathtaking. You felt like a bird.

This will be my first fall in 59 years that I won't be able to be there, so keep the photos and posts coming! I will have to enjoy from afar. Seems like the whole country has settled down into more normal weather trends for once so it should be a good one.

When you take the foliage ride at Stratton, don't forget to get directions to the fire tower. It's well worth it. Also, have a blue cheeseburger at the red fox tavern just outside town. It's also worth it. Also driving up equinox and the Mary Todd Lincoln estate.

Re: Photos from NEK & Central VT, October 6-8
Well, I stirred up more drama than I intended with my post. The long and short of it is since all our kids have moved to AZ, we are moving there to be near them. We will therefore be tourists in Vermont from now on. It is only emotional since I have been a new England we for all my life and where I ...

What an incredible job and a way to show god's beauty to those of us who can't fly. A great way to see my last fall in VT. I will miss VT and the SOV clan.

As I sit here on my porch in south central vt, the leaves and moisture level look good. The pond is full even though the grass is dry. 8 weeks to go.

Re: Suggestions for this Friday
We said to heck with the weather and drove from Chester to Newport today on 91. Good ride, some rain, but the weather in Newport was Much better than in Chester. The colors from about mile marker 150 north were amazing. Even through the low clouds the west side of 91 just south of mile marker was al...

Re: Suggestions for this Friday
Well, I went on my tour today just in case the weather is awful tomorrow. Went north from Chester on I-91 to exit 17 and took 302 to Groton. The peak seemed to be just north of exit 15 on 91' but I know it's subjective and obviously altitude dependent. Then I went north to Peacham, and continued on ...
