I certainly agree with the previous post. Spending time at B&J factory is exceptionally time consuming and not very satisfying, either. If you are in Vermont for just a couple of days, you will be glad at the end that you spent your time outside rather than in a crowded factory to see ice cream made...

I am sure PWT will answer you but thought I would give you my time of day on Cloudland Road. I have about always traveled Cloudland Road at mid-morning. The road is quite shady but the sun seems to shine perfectly on the hills and valleys of the farms along Cloudland. They are probably the same farm...

Glad to see the information on Hilton Hill Road. Have not been on it but will plan on going there this year. Sounds as though it would be a great place for good photographs. Just to get the geography of "Hilton Head" right, it is in South Carolina and not North Carolina. Great place to visit, by the...

FAVORITE PICTURE TAKING SPOTS

My favorite photo spots are: The Jenne Farm (early in the morning), about six miles or so south of Woodstock. Be there when the sun is coming up and stay there a while. The "overlook" area on Roxburyt Gap Road going up the hill from East Warren Road, near Waitsfield and Warren. Various scenes on Clo...

Re: Early October Slide Show

Thanks, Tim, for publishing the pictures you took today. Gives a lot of encouragement as to what the weekend could bring, especially if lower temperatures do move in for a couple of early mornings.

I feel sure it will be another great visit to Vermont. Thanks for you help.

Re: Foilage Reports

My spirit is much stronger than 24 hours ago! Much of the information shared today has had a very positive message to it. It makes a difference. My hope is that we are all a little bit surprised by what we see come mid-week and next weekend. Thanks, GIC, for your kind remarks. I agree on the comment...

Thanks PWT for the info on the map at the welcome center in Montpelier. We will be there next Saturday and pick one up. I have been to that area but am not familiar with all the roads. Good information!

Foilage Reports

It was a little disappointing today to not get the anxiously awaited Thursday Foilage Report that I, and I feel others, may have anticipated. The content of the brief report on this site gave limited information. It did not give anyone much knowledge or direction to plan leaf peeping over the next f...

Re: North to South Oct. 2-7

I agree with all the information that has been given to you about where to go. I am going to be in Vermont the same time you are and staying in Woodstock three days. I can assure you that there are drives and scenes in the beautiful Killington/Woodstock coridor, both north and south, that I think yo...

Re: Advice for Oct 14-17

An alternative you should keep in mind, in the event the color in Southern Vermont is not as good as you hope to see, is to travel a few more miles south into the Western and especially Berkshires area of Massachusetts. We have found that the routes bordered by the Mohawk Trail on the north, I-91 on...

Re: to pwt54

Hi, Deb: I told you I would get back to you on a couple places you will go. Here is some more information that might be of help to you. In Woodstock, just be sure and walk the village. It is such a peaceful and delightful place and has a lot of nice shops. Bentley's is a nice, casual restaurant righ...

Deb:

I looked it up. The Internet site for Williamsburg Gneral Store is www.wgstore.com.
It is a great site and will make you want to go there tomorrow!

Re: to pwt54

Deb: The map PWT mentioned is a handy map to have with the New England states all on one page. Since I know you will be in Connecticut and Massaschusetts before you travel to Vermont, check in the main lobby at Bradley Field, on arrival in Hartford, for maps of those two states as well as the New En...

Re: mountain overlooks

Bev: You generate a very valid thought concerning the toll routes to go to higher elevations. I have been traveling to Vermont for quite a few years. Only one time have I driven one of the toll roads. That was the Equinox drive at Manchester, which I took \mainly to to meet friends at the restaurant...

Re: to pwt54

Deb: Thanks for the information. In your town-to-town information, you mention going from Stowe over to Bethel. I assume that is Bethel, Maine? If so, I can give you some suggestions on a good and scenic way to travel to Maine, including to Freeport. I can suggest a couple of good eating and/or stop...
