OK. My decision: Option 1.
Thank you very much for helping me with my annual Vermont trip. I will try to enjoy the foliage we missed last year.

Sorry to be such a pest but I really have to make a final decision today. The issue is Vermont entrance tomorrow: Still debating... What drive should I take. My options: 1. I-87 Exit 15 - E.Rupert - Rt 30 - Rt 133 - Rt 4 2. I-87 Exit 7- Rt 7NY - Rt 9VT - Rt 100 - Rt 4. Where is foliage better? I rea...

NYC to Rutland - tomorrow
Still debating...
What drive should I take. My options:
1. I-87 Exit 15 - E.Rupert - Rt 30 - Rt 133 - Rt 4
2. I-87 Exit 7- Rt 7NY - Rt 9VT - Rt 100 - Rt 4.
Where is foliage better? I read reports that Rt 9 and 100 A are really beautiful and peak.

Re: NYC to Rutland - new foliage conditions?
How is foliage NOW at these areas ?:
East on 153 at Salem to E.Rupert, VT.
North(left) on Route 30 at E.Rupert.
Right on Route 133 in center of Pawlet, VT.
Follow 133 to Route 4 and into Rutland
or follow 140 from Middletown Sprgs to Route 7
Am I better off taking Rt 9 to Rt 100 - Rt 100 A ?

Thanks for your suggestions.
When you say "ride or hike on Killington" do you mean Mt.Killington?

Day 2 Options: Killington / Rt 100 / Stowe
I am staying in Mendon Mountainview Lodge over the weekend Oct 7 - 9. With the Lodge as a base, what is the most scenic, photogenic option on Sunday, October 8: 1. Killington Area (peak?!) 2. Take Rt 100 to Stowe. Spend most of day light time on the road. Very little time left for Stowe itself and i...

Re: Photography Columbus Day weekend
pwt54 - Are these area going to have same colors as Stowe area / Smuggler Notch. Or still nothing will beat Stowe around Columbus Day this year? I will be in Rutland. I have been to Stowe and have done Rt 100 several times. Very scenic but I am afraid it will be a zoo that weekend. By the time I get...

Re: NYC to Rutland
backroad_explorer - Thanks for your suggestions. I totally agree with you that it depends on such factors as time, foliage, weather, etc. I should probably plan to have a few routes handy in case the conditions change. I will start out of NYC early in the morning and I plan to be on Interstate at leas...

NYC to Rutland
Hi, Could you please suggest the most scenic route(s) to drive to Rutland from South? I will be using either I-91 or I-87 to get to Vermont on Saturday, October 7. My last 3 trips I arrived via I-91 (Quenchee, Woodstock) or via I-87 (Adirondaks, Vt - Rt 4 to Rt 73 and to Middlebury). Should I try to...
